VSC's Projectors lineup is built mostly around Epson PowerLite models, currently spanning the budget-friendly PowerLite X49 ($508) up to the PowerLite L795SE laser short-throw ($6,349.99). One thing worth understanding before you buy is laser versus lamp. Laser models like the L-series (L530U, L690E, L790U, L895E) run 20,000+ hours without a bulb to replace, which matters for a projector running all day, every school day, while lamp-based models like the 1795F or 1290 cost less upfront but need periodic bulb swaps.

Short-throw models such as the L795SE, L690SE, and L695SU (throw ratios as tight as 0.5-0.8) mount close to the screen, cutting down on shadows and glare when a teacher stands near the front of the room, while standard-throw models like the 685W or 1785W suit a more traditional back-of-room ceiling mount. For large lecture halls and auditoriums, the 6,000-8,000 lumen L690U, L790U, and L895E push enough brightness to compete with ambient light.
