From a video rental shop
to Michigan's #1 ed-tech integrator
1982
Founded as Videoland
Frank and Lorraine Kemmer opened a 1,500 sq ft video rental shop in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The entrepreneurial spirit and customer-first philosophy they built then still drives VSC today.
1985
Schools Enter the Picture
Seeing an unmet need, Frank and Lorraine began supplying VCRs and video equipment to metro Detroit schools, launching the Videoland Service Company as our dedicated education division. A pivot that would define the next four decades.
1990
VSC, Inc. Is Born
The retail store closed its doors and the company fully incorporated as VSC, Inc., 100% dedicated to serving educational institutions with technology products and expertise.
1994
Full-Service Integration
VSC added professional installation, system integration, and design services. No longer just a product supplier, VSC became a true end-to-end technology partner for Michigan schools.
2000 to Present
Home in Novi
VSC moved into our 16,000 sq ft headquarters in Novi, Michigan, housing our full warehouse, six installation crews, and service teams under one roof. Today we're Michigan's #1 SMART integrator and the nation's #1 Audio Enhancement integrator, with over 500 school facilities and counting.
